Harper's First Halloween!

We're not super crazy when it comes to celebrating Halloween in this household, so it would make sense that our first halloween with a new baby would be far from exciting.  We sure did have one festive little man though!

At the last minute Gus and Uncle Aaron got tickets to go to the Oregon vs. USC football game in Eugene. I, being the coolest wife in the world (according to my husband who is oddly obsessed with the sport of football, as well as the Oregon Ducks), agreed that he could go stay the night and have a great time!  This meant Harper was the man of the house our first full night alone.  And we're both still alive and well, so I'd say it was a success!  Granted, he didn't get a story read, or a bath, but I think we faired alright!

During the afternoon Harper and I went to my parents to decorate Halloween cookies.  Grandma and Grandpa Molan were going to come too but Jo was feeling under the weather.  With the H1N1 scare this winter we all agreed they should stay home and rest.  So we watched for Daddy and Uncle Aaron on tv at the game...Being a Beaver, I never enjoy seeing the Ducks win, but who likes to watch USC win either?  At least Harper's dad was happy with the duck win...We took lots of video and pictures to capture Harper's first holiday....And the two of us spent a lot of time talking about the wonders of Christmas and Thanksgiving!  We can't wait to share our holiday traditions with this precious little man...
