4 Month Check-Up

Harper had his four month check-up at the doctor this past Friday.  He checked out perfectly once again!  The doctor said he seems absolutely healthy and he'll probably be rolling back to tummy any day now!  His weigh-in went wonderfully!  This is the first time he wasn't crying during the streak through the office! He smiled and stared at the mobile above the scale!  He weighed 16lbs 9oz!  Our little guy has turned into a BIG guy!  He's in the 90th percentile!  He measured 25 1/4 inches, but Gus thinks the nurse wasn't very accurate...That puts him around the 65th percentile for height.  So he's doing nothing but growing!  The doctor suspects he won't continue to increase this much, but had nothing but positive things to say about his progress.  We're always proud parents.

We've got the okay to take Harper out in public!  Dr. Snyder suggested not taking him to highly populated places, but we can get out a bit!  I am thrilled considering my comic relief is leaving Tuesday morning for Alaska...So Saturday morning we met both grandparents at our favorite coffee shop in South Cannon Beach, Waves of Grain, and then for a nice walk on the beach!  Feels good to be with the masses again (well, not too big!)

Harper got three shots in the thighs and one oral vaccine.  He did great and barely cried!  I only got tears in my eyes this time!  No fever afterwards, just a little fussy going to bed Friday night.  He needed a little extra loving, which we are more than willing to give!

Harper has decided in the last week or two that he doesn't like his thumb OR his pacifier!  He only wants Mom-The-Human-Pacifier!  Which makes going anywhere with a shirt on a little difficult!  The doctor is assuming it's just a phase and to wait him out!  We've tried three different types of pacifiers thinking he's getting picky...NOPE.  Just wants his Mom's pacifier!  I'm never going to get these days back, so I'm going with the flow...Although I am a little nervous I'm going to have a five year old hanging off my chest, I'm trying to take it all in stride.

Gus leaves Tuesday as I mentioned, so we're off to snuggle and put together a photo album of our family so he can stow it away in his bunk on the boat!  Wish us luck...Pray for his safety, quick return, and our ability to survive without him...He's such a help, I'm a little nervous about the last one!
