...And Harper decides to master a few other "firsts"...As each one unfolded, I called Gus and described in disbelief what I had seen. Then Gus says to me, "I leave for one day and he's doing all of these things. What happens when I go back to Alaska?"...I pause for a second, and instead of sugar coating, I sit and honestly think about what it will be like when he has to leave us again and I reply, "You'll be getting phone calls about walking and talking." My poor husband... This is all happening way too fast! But with our fisherman's lifestyle we are blessed. We are thankful to have a Daddy home and not at work from 8-5 every day, with after hour appointments or meetings. When our Daddy is home, he is HOME. We love him for many reasons, but today we're especially grateful for all he does for his family.
Without further ado....
Harper waved for the first time! He's still mastering it sometimes waving with both hands, and so far needing prompting from his Momma, winding his little arm up for him!
And second, Harper clapped a couple times himself after playing "Patty Cake" with Momma and Gamma...See evidence below!
Lastly, for dessert last night Harper and Momma nommed on some watermelon!! He loved it in little bite size pieces he could play with.
The photo was mostly for looks, because it's cute... I ate off the loose watermelon so he wouldn't get any big pieces in his mouth, and he sucked the juice off the rind.
It was precious and made me anxious for more summer time treats!
