With Harper all snuggled in after his swimming lesson today, I figure I should update with a couple exciting firsts in his life...
Harper's first bonfire, a definite memorable moment in any beach dweller's life! The sun is setting rather late these days, so Harper spent most of the bonfire asleep, but he woke up just in time to go home! He made his ten minute appearance, and then it was off to sleep for the Molan family!
He missed the hot dog roast, and even the smores! Momma made sure to have a nice glass of wine and watch the most beautiful sunset so far this year with the whole family! It doesn't get much better than that....
And Harper's second birthday party! Uncle Aaron doesn't turn 30 until June 10th, but he will be up fishing in Alaska by then, so a couple of us got together and planned a little surprise for him and all of his closest friends. It was a ton of fun, and although Harper came dressed and ready for bed (the party didn't start until well after 7pm!) he still got some sugar from his big old uncle and friends!
Harper happens to sleep really well on Uncle Aaron's bed, so we made a little crib out of pillows (That boy really gets moving these days! No place is safe!) and we enjoyed the festivities for a little longer.
I've got to hand it to Heidi and my mom...serious party planners. The food and decor was amazing! I'm taking notes for little Harper's first birthday in September! Also, thanks to Heidi for the pictures! I'm a bad Mommy and forgot my camera in the diaper bag!
Gus, Harper, and I are also planning a couple trips of our own this summer! Call us crazy, but we are road tripping with an infant! It's Gus' favorite way to travel and we used to do it a lot when we were dating and engaged, so I'm excited to get back to it!
Our first trip will be in June to Utah with a quick stop in Washington for a friend's bridal shower, and Idaho to see some old friends from back home! We want to visit Gus' Grandma Marlynn and Dick as well as see our old friends and coworkers from where we used to live in Midway!
Our second trip will be in July to the lake cabin in California again with Gus' family! We're really looking forward to it. It'll be interesting having to stop every 2-4 hours for Harper, and to see how the little speed demon Gus handles it all! He's such a great daddy, it'll all hopefully work out perfectly! We have no real schedule, so we can't really go wrong...I hope!!
